Sometimes if you want to remember something, you could place an object out of its normal spot as a reminder. Like the other tips you have to make the association and visualize so you will remember why you placed the object differently. Another tip is to put what you need during the day by the door. Changing your routine is a good way to improve your memory recall, e.g. change the room where you would normally study, or if you tend to study at night, try doing it in the morning. By making small changes your long term memory recall will improve. When looking at or studying material which you are not familiar with try to connect it with things you already know, as having a connection with information which you already know increases the chances of you being able to remember new information.
