There are certain medications that should be avoided in order to reduce the risk of suffering from Metamucil side effects. Blood thinners such as warfarin and others including demeclocycline and doxycycline should be avoided but once again your doctor can provide a full and comprehensive list of things to avoid. Metamucil can also make other medications less effective by making it harder for your body to absorb them. Try not to take other oral medicines within two hours before or after taking Metamucil or any other bulk-forming laxatives.
